How to add green leafy vegetables to your meals without your family noticing ?
Add them to your pasta sauce, lasagna, pizzas, soup and chili. I like to cut spinach, Swiss chard, beet greens or kale in small pieces and add them to my preparations.
Some ideas for you: Make a spaghetti sauce with tomato, tempeh, mushrooms, zucchini, carrots and add spinach + beet greens at the end.
Make a chili with different types of beans + lentils, and add Swiss chard at the end.
Make a vegetable barley soup or a minestrone and add some kale at the end.
Make a vegetable lasagna and add layers of spinach between your regular layers.
Make pizzas and add spinach or other greens under the other toppings, like a cashew-nutritional yeast cheeze, onions, dried tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, artichokes, olives.
In his DAILY DOZEN, Dr Greger, a renowned expert in nutrition, recommends 2 PORTIONS of greens each day for optimal health. One portion is a cup raw or 1/2 cup cooked.
